Do you accept HMO insurance?
I'm glad you asked! Balboa Dentistry accepts matching benefits for some HMO dental coverage and we accept most PPO plans, including Delta Dental PPO and Premier. If you'd like, we can help verify your plan type - just provide your dental insurance details, or give us a call at 858-277-5141.
Do you accept Medi-Cal or Denti-Cal?
At Balboa Dentistry, we do not currently accept Medi-Cal or Denti-Cal plans. These programs are limited to specific providers within state-sponsored networks. However, we're happy to discuss affordable private-pay options or custom payment plans for patients without PPO dental insurance. Call or text us at 858-277-5141 - we're here to help.
Do you accept my insurance?
Yes, we work with most major PPO dental insurance plans. Please provide the name of your plan and we'll check for you.
Will my dental insurance plan cover my visit?
Most PPO dental insurance plans cover all or part of routine exams and cleanings (typically 100%), X-rays (often once per year), fillings, crowns, and other restorative treatments (partial coverage based on your plan), and periodontal care and deep cleanings (with some limitations). Coverage varies by provider and plan, and we will verify your benefits before your appointment so there are no surprises. Are you in-network?
We are in-network with several insurance providers. If we're out-of-network, we'll still help you maximize your benefits.
Are you in-network with my insurance?
We work with many major PPO dental insurance plans and are in-network with several providers. Even if we're not in-network with your specific plan, you can still be seen at our office and we'll help you maximize your out-of-network benefits. We'll verify your insurance for you and explain what's covered before any treatment begins, so there are no surprises. Do you take Medicare or MediCal or DentiCal or Medicaid?
No, but we can offer you a free consultation.
Do you accept UnitedHealthcare dental insurance?
Yes, we accept UnitedHealthcare dental insurance (most UHC PPO plans). We'll verify your benefits before your appointment and help you understand what's covered, including exams, cleanings, and major treatments. For questions, call or text 858-277-5141.
Will my medical insurance cover my dental visit?
In most cases, medical insurance does not cover routine dental care, such as cleanings, exams, or fillings. However, medical plans may cover dental treatment in special cases, such as dental injury (accident/trauma), biopsy or other medically necessary procedures, treatment related to a systemic disease or surgical condition, and pre-surgical clearance for surgery or oral care. We can help determine if your treatment may qualify for medical billing, but dental plans are usually required for most dental services. Call or text us at 858-277-5141 to discuss your situation.
Do you offer payment plans? Can I pay in installments? Is financing available?
Absolutely. We believe finances should never be a barrier to a healthy smile. At Balboa Dentistry, we offer in-house payment plans for select treatments, CareCredit and Cherry financing with flexible monthly options, and Delta Financing (when eligible) with 3 to 60 month terms.
